Your arena floor experience is limited to exactly 20 minutes due to official Colosseum regulations. This is not a tour company decision but a strict rule enforced by the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum to:

Preserve the monument – The arena floor is a delicate archaeological area that requires protection

Manage visitor capacity – Only 300 people maximum are allowed on the arena floor simultaneously

Ensure fair access – The 20-minute limit allows more families to experience this exclusive area

Maintain safety – Controlled timing prevents overcrowding in this restricted space
After your 20 minutes on the arena floor, you must exit the Colosseum completely (10 minutes to leave). However, your experience continues immediately as you’ll proceed to explore the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill with the same ticket, which offers hours of additional exploration and learning opportunities for your family.
