What will you visit on this tour?
You will start by entering the Trajan Forum and go thorugh the story of one of the greatest conquest of all time! Like in a history book, you will learn about the entreprise in Dacia (nowadays Romania) thorugh the images carved on the column. Unique, powerful and breathtaking!
Just like a citizen of the past, you will walk through the “piazze” and the markets until you will pass through the underground tunnel wich connects the imperial forum with the republican forum. You will litterally walk under via dei fori imperiali, the modern road built by Mussolini and go from one side to the other of the archaeological site.
You will enter the atmosphere of ancient Rome, among the people and in the streets around the Senate, where decrees were debated and laws created. Will the consuls, leaders of the Senate, approve or veto these laws? Find out with your guide 😊
And then?...
In a few minutes, you have reached the beating heart of the ancient world: the Roman Forum!
With the help of our guides, you will be able to imagine vendors bargaining their wares and politicians talking to crowds, judges handing out sentences for criminals and teachers surrounded by their students.
You will seem to hear priests praying to their pagan gods or predicting the future, but also thieves who run away after robbing someone right near where dozens of naked slaves, in line, are waiting to be bought.
Let yourself be inspired by the beauty of the most important vestiges of the past: the Temple of Saturn, the facade of the Tabularium, the Senate, the Temple of Julius Caesar, the house of the Vestal virgins and their sacred fire. Walk on the “Via Sacra”, the most important street in Rome, to reach the Basilica of Maxentius and Constantine and immediately after the Arch of Titus with its representation of the “Menorah”, the seven-branched Jewish candelabrum stolen from Jerusalem.
After this you’ll discover the secrets of most famous of the seven hills of Rome: the Palatine Hill. A very easy walk will take us to the top of the “Beverly Hills of the past”, through the recentely reopened Domus Tiberiana where the imposing remains of the Imperial Palace are still visible! Banquets, political battles, luxurious fountains and shiny marbles! All the elegance and beauty of these halls: will be brought to life through the words of your enthusiastic guide in an unforgettable walk through the remains…
… And after the ruins, the perfection of survival: with a 20 minutes walk outside the ancient forum area the next stop will be Temple of All the Gods: aka the PANTHEON!*
Converted into the church of Santa Maria dei Martiri in the 7th century, the Pantheon shows an incredible state of conservation and, what is even more incredible, it is a huge temple with the most famous dome in the world… a single piece of concrete!
If it rains you can check if you see a few drops on the floor and check if what the Romans believe is true: “even with a hole in the center, it doesn’t rain in it!”.

- Forum/Palatine Tickets: ADULTS: from 28 euros | CHILDREN: 5 euros
- Pantheon Tickets: 8 euros each. Due to the new regulations for visiting the Pantheon, which separate time slots for visitors with or without licensed guides, access to the monument may take place independently. In these cases, your guide will tell you all about the Pantheon from the outside, and then you’ll go inside to explore at your own pace before meeting up again with your guide afterwards. If this arrangement applies to your tour, you will be informed at the time of booking.
