THIS TOUR INCLUDES:
Three coins in the fountain, Each one seeking happiness. Thrown by three hopeful lovers, Which one will the fountain bless? Three hearts in the fountain, Each heart longing for its home. There they lie in the fountain Somewhere in the heart of Rome. Which one will the fountain bless?
Do you know the song? Well if you don’t, you will find out what it is about in this “Highlights of Rome” walking tour!
Step into beauty and history!! This 2,5 hours walking tour will take you to the most famous squares of Rome: Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps! Admire the monuments and you will be captured by the stories behind them…things you won’t find in books!
Fun, knowledge, beauty and no stress with a licensed, expert roman guide! We will show you the best of our city and all you will have to do is relax and enjoy!
We will start this private walking tour about the masterpieces of Rome with a glimpse of the real Rome: the vibrant CAMPO DE FIORI, with its wonderful morning street market or its relaxed afternoon atmosphere, hard to believe that executions used to take place there!
Then, a few blocks far, you’ll discover that Michelangelo’s genius created the beautiful Palazzo Farnese and from here we will walk to PIAZZA NAVONA, the largest of the XVII Century squares -“Piazze” in Italian. Here you will admire Bernini’s baroque masterpiece: the FOUNTAIN OF THE FOUR RIVERS. Piazza Navona is also the place where you can find street artists and painters but, above all…it’s here that you can get one of the best Gelato in Rome, promised!
After this, our favourite stop of the Highlights of Rome walking Tour… The mighty Pantheon! . You will enter the temple with your guide and you’ll feel you walk on air! The magnificent temple of all Gods turned into a Church in the VII Century … You won’t probably believe how well-preserved, how big the dome is and… just made of one solid piece! In case it rains you can try to see if any drop falls inside: there’s a hole in the center of the dome, but romans do believe the water will not fall inside… even if it rains!
The next stop of our walking tour through the enchanting heart of Rome is: TREVI FOUNTAIN… be ready with your coin! This is where our highlights of Rome walking will take us through narrow alleys. Here you will understand the meaning of the song and we’ll make sure you will come back to Rome someday by making you throw a coin in the fountain but… you don’t have to look!
At the end of the tour, we will reach the SPANISH STEPS, the last stop of our walking tour and the last view the Romantic poet John Keats had before dying in 1821, but, above all, one of the most beautiful squares of the city! it’s hard to believe that this is where, some centuries ago, rich people refused to move and broke artists used to live!
Could you ask for more?! THE HIGHILIGHTS OF ROME WALKING TOUR: TREVI, PANTHEON & Co., in little more than 2 hours will make you fall in love with our city. Fullfill your eyes with the beauty, your mind with the words of an expert guide and we are sure no further coin in the Trevi fountain will be needed to let you come back soon!
