You will follow our guides through more than 12 centuries of ancient Roman history, from the time of Romulus, Remus and the She-wolf to the barbarian invasions, up to the tour of the Pantheon with its spectacular dome.
What will you visit on this tour?
You will start by entering the Colosseum by going up all the rows.
Just like a spectator of the past, you will climb the steep steps of the “vomitoria” and reach the first ring… You will be breathless in front of the spectacular view of the arena.
Imagine the gladiators wounded by wild lions and tigers, criminals skinned alive to feed the wild beasts during the cruel executions. You will enter the atmosphere of ancient Rome, among the people and in the streets around the Colosseum, where you too should have bet on the gladiators who fought to stay alive.
After this experience, you will leave the Colosseum to reach the Arch of Constantine and, after a few minutes, the beating heart of the ancient world: the Roman Forum!
With the help of our guides, you will be able to imagine vendors bargaining their wares and politicians talking to crowds, judges handing out sentences for criminals and teachers surrounded by their students.
You will seem to hear priests praying to their pagan gods or predicting the future, but also thieves who run away after robbing someone right near where dozens of naked slaves, in line, are waiting to be bought.
Let yourself be inspired by the beauty of the most important vestiges of the past: the Temple of Saturn, the facade of the Tabularium, the Senate, the Temple of Julius Caesar, the house of the Vestal virgins and their sacred fire. Walk on the “Via Sacra”, the most important street in Rome, to reach the Basilica of Maxentius and Constantine and immediately after the Arch of Titus with its representation of the “Menorah”, the seven-branched Jewish candelabrum stolen from Jerusalem.
... And after the ruins, the perfection of survival: the next stop will be the Tour of the Pantheon, the Temple of All the Gods
Converted into the church of Santa Maria dei Martiri in the 7th century, the Pantheon shows an incredible state of conservation and, what is even more incredible, it is a huge temple with the most famous dome in the world… a single piece of concrete!
If it rains you can check if you see a few drops on the floor and check if what the Romans believe is true: “even with a hole in the center, it doesn’t rain in it!”.
The last part of the tour will be dedicated to an excellent ice cream. The places we know are the sweetest in the city!
Please note: Due to the new regulations for visiting the Pantheon, which separate time slots for visitors with or without licensed guides, access to the monument may take place independently. In these cases, your guide will tell you all about the Pantheon from the outside, and then you’ll go inside to explore at your own pace before meeting up again with your guide afterwards.

Starting price for a private tour 2,5 hrs for 2 adults: 350 euro + tickets but definitive price is provided *only* upon request.
Price can be reduced during low season or increased during holiday, peak dates or last minute request.
