• Ancient Rome + Pantheon Tour•

Follow us through more than 12 centuries of ancient Roman history, from the time of Romulus, Remus and the She-wolf up to the barbarian invasions as we walk the city to enter the mighty Pantheon!

How does the Ancient City + Pantheon Tour work?

We will start at the glorious Colosseum!

Visit the stadium just like an ancient spectator, climb the stairs up to the first tier where you will be struck by the spectacular view over the arena: this ancient stage.
Imagine gladiators wounded by wild lions and tigers and criminals skinned alive and fed to wild animals during the public executions. Then in the afternoon, after a long day of incredible shows, you could place a bet (but not for real!) on the gladiators fighting for their lives.

After the Colosseum a short walk will take us to the Arch of Constantine and then, within a few minutes, you’ll find yourself in the busy heart of the ancient world: the Roman Forum.

Our guides will weave a stories and pictures of daily life in the busy forum. Imagine traders selling their goods, hundreds of naked slaves in line waiting to be bought and sold, politicians speaking to the crowd, judges sentencing criminals, teachers surrounded by their students, priests worshipping pagan gods and predicting the future, and the ancient art of the pickpockets running off with someone’s bag.
Be inspired by the beauty of the most important ruins of  antiquity: the Temple of Saturn, the Tabularium façade, the ancient Senate house of Rome, the Temple of Julius Cesar, the house of the Vestal Virgins and their sacred flame. Walk through the “Via Sacra”, the holiest road in Rome, to reach the Basilica of Maxentius and Constantine and the Arch of Titus with its image of the glorious Jewish Menorah.

Next will be the Pantheon Tour: the temple of all the Gods turned into a Church, Santa Maria dei Martiri, in the VII Century…

You probably won’t believe how well preserved it is, how big the dome is and that, believe it or not, … it’s just one solid piece!
If it rains you have the chance to try see if any drops fall inside the Pantheon: there’s a hole right in the center of the dome and the Romans believe no water can fall inside – even when it rains!

And for the finale of the tour … the most delicious Gelateria in Rome, where you’ll have the best gelato of your life! Promise!

This single day will be enough to see the main wonders of the eternal city, and you will never forget this day in Rome!

That’s what people say about us…

  •   It was a great tour for my kid who is 9 years old. Our guide, Marta was great, and she was interactive with the kids and explained a lot about colasseum and answered all the questions from the kids. Highly recommended families with kids.

Great tour and our tour guide was wonderful with the kids

    thumb Richard

The perfect way to experience the majesty and history of the Colosseum with young kids.

Francesca is hugely knowledgable and just so so lovely with the kids. It was pushing 42C/110F so her ability to keep us cool and manage our way around the space was appreciated.

  •   Francesca was very engaged and good with the kids. Expected some more unique interplay but the Coliseum itself limits it.

    thumb Jason

If you have kids with you in Rome then this tour is an ABSOLUTE MUST SEE! My kids, ages 12 and 7, were totally involved throughout this entire tour and are still talking about it two days later!

Our host Martha was amazing! She went out of her way to call each child out by their names and ask them specific questions throughout the tour. She also had them play an interactive scavenger hunt that was a huge hit with my daughter.

In short, our tour with Martha was unforgettable and and I’m so thankful... read more

Grace was an amazing guide, she had a true interest in making sure our two young boys participated and learned about the fascinating history of the coliseum. She and Francesca were great communicators, super friendly and extremely accommodating! We would highly recommend this tour and these guides, a very special experience!!!

  •   Our tour guide Nicole was wonderful and helped our 3 daughters 11, 9, and 6 really enjoy the Colesseum with a mix of facts and stories. Great time!

    thumb Zack

This tour was absolutely incredible for our family! Our boys, ages 5 & 8, were engaged from the first moment we met Francesca. Our kids are energetic & Francesca kept up with them! We also visited the Vatican with her the next day, and were so sad we couldn’t have her join us in Paris. She is a wonderful and thoughtful guide. You will not be disappointed if you book with her!

    thumb Angela

Nicole was our guide, she was very personable, sweet and great with my girls (7 & 5). She was also very knowledgeable and patient. We enjoyed our tour very much! Thank you!

  •   A thorough guided tour, MaryGrace had insight that took us back to the time when the Colosseum was in full use, it’s beginning and end. At the time of this writing this tour was not interactive for the kids in a way some other tours are structured, but MaryGrace worked very well with the kids and we all took away knowledge and insight that you just cannot read in a book as you walk through, or even listen on an audio guide. A guided tour with a passionate subject matter expert is the best option. I strongly recommend the... read more

We had an amazing experience from making the reservation all the way to getting help with a cab after our tour was over. Our boys loved our guide from the very beginning and she made us all feel special immediately. We waited in no lines to go in and were brought to all the best spots. Even better our guide had a picture book to show the kids to help them understand the tour that much better. She also kept the pace so that that the grandparents weren’t overwhelmed. Everyone raved about the tour after it was over. An excellent... read more

Francesca was a super guide to the Colosseum. She gauged her audience really well with a range of children from 5-10 she kept the youngest involved and interested whilst getting into more detail with the eldest. We would definitely recommend her tour to families. So wonderful to have a born and bred Roman tell us about Rome.

  •   Marta was great. My two boys and I were all engaged the entire time. She balanced educational topics with fun stories for kids. Really appreciated it.

    thumb Fabio

The BEST way to see the Colosseum with kids. I have been taking my 6 year old all around Rome, and this tour was without a doubt the highlight of her trip. Fun and educational for parents too!

    thumb Clayton

Francesca was amazing and created an incredible and special experience for our family. She was caring, personal, and highly engaging (especially with our young son), which really meant a lot to us. She had an incredible amount of details and facts that we still talk about, and we left feeling we had made a new friend. What a great tour!

  •   A must for families looking at visiting the coliseum. Friendly and fun interactions

    thumb Sameer

Our three children and two grandparents absolutely loved this tour. Our kids were engaged from the start and the history was conveyed perfectly for kids. My husband said that he enjoyed this level of activity, as well. Grace was incredibly knowledgeable and has clearly been doing this for quite some time. We’d definitely recommend to families with young children, as the books and pictures that Grace brought on the tour were very helpful learning tools. Meet-up was easy, skipping line fantastic and Grace expertly led our grandparent in wheelchair thru all the access points. Loved it!
